Ari Shavit

Leading Israeli journalist Ari Shavit has won the first ever Natan Book Award for My Promised Land: The Triumph and Tragedy of Israel (Spiegel & Grau, November 2013) a narrative history of the State of Israel. The award, to be presented annually to an extraordinary, Jewish themed non-fiction book, is unique in providing monetary support not only for the development of the book, but also for its promotion and distribution.
