Max Hastings Wins Pritzker Award

The Inferno

Historian Max Hastings has won the 2011 Pritzker Military Library Literature Award for Lifetime Achievement in Military Writing which recognizes a living author for "a body of work that has profoundly enriched the public understanding of American military history." Sponsored by the Tawani Foundation, the Pritzker Award comes with a $100,000 honorarium and will be presented on October 27th, 2012 at the Pritzker Library's Liberty Gala in Chicago. Hastings is the author of 23 books, including Inferno and Winston's War.

Nathan Englander has won the 2012 Frank O'Connor Short Story Award for his collection What We Talk About When We Talk About Anne Frank. This O'Connor Award comes with a €25,000 prize and will be given to Englander at the 2012 Cork International Short Story Festival in Cork, Ireland.
