Film Scholar Robert Sklar Dies at 74

Robert Sklar, the film scholar best known for his classic and comprehensive study of American filmmaking, Movie Made America has passed away at the age of 74. First published in 1975, Movie Made America was in the eyes of many the most complete history of American film available at that time and an update in 1994 helped make the book a fixture of modern American film criticism. Sklar's obituary can be read here.
