Arthur Laurents dies at 93

Arthur Laurents, noted playwright, stage director, and screenwriter, has died at the age of 93. Perhaps best known for his work on the stage as a book writer (West Side Story, Gypsy) and director (Hallelujah, Baby!, La Cage Aux Folles) Laurents also had success as a Hollywood screenwriter (Rope, The Way We Were). In 2009 Laurents wrote Mainly on Directing, an intimate look at his life in the theater as a writer and director.
