
Ronald M. Dworkin, a professor of law at New York University and University College London and author of Life's Dominion: An Argument About Abortion, Euthanasia and Individual Freedom, has been awarded the 2007 Holberg International Memorial Prize for developing a theory of law that stands in opposition to traditional legal positivism. The prize, presented by the Ludvig Holberg Memorial Fund in Norway, recognizes scholarly achievement in the arts and humanities, the social sciences, law, and theology and carries a monetary award of $800,000.
