Gene Roberts' and Hank Klibanoff's book The Race Beat: The Press, the Civil Rights Struggle, and the Awakening of a Nation has won the 2007 American Journalism Historians Association Book Award. The book has also been awarded the 2007 Pulitzer Prize for History and the 2007 Goldsmith Book Award.
