ALTERNATE TEXT FORMATS FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES
In order to best serve the needs of students with print disabilities, we have partnered with an organization that specializes in this endeavor. You are welcome to use the existing file for students with qualifying disabilities. For future alternative text needs, please contact our alternative text partner, Bookshare.
Bookshare is a non-profit organization that makes our books, as well as those from many other major publishers, accessible to students at colleges and universities with verified print disabilities (http://www.bookshare.org/_/community/universities).

HOW TO REQUEST PERMISSION TO USE MATERIAL FROM RANDOM HOUSE
Please take the time to examine the book, including the copyright and acknowledgement page(s).
If your source is an anthology or a collection of various authors' works, you must review the copyright, acknowledgement page(s), the front matter, and the back matter to locate the information pertaining to the original source of the material in the book which you wish to copy. Your request should be directed to that party.
If the book is a paperback, please check the copyright page carefully to see if it contains information indicating that the paperback was published by arrangement with another publisher. In most cases you will need to apply to the original hardcover publisher for permission.
Since many requests require research, please submit your request as early as possible. It takes approximately 8 weeks to receive a written response to your request. The processing time is subject to change depending on the volume of requests. *Please note that multiple follow-up queries will hinder the efficient processing of your request. Note, as well, we DO NOT provide fee estimates.
All requests directed to Random House, Inc. must be made in writing, by mail or by fax. It is not our policy to grant permissions verbally, nor is it our policy to accept permission requests via e-mail. In addition, no requests are handled on a rush basis.
For your convenience, we have created forms to be filled out and submitted by mail or fax for your individual permission request. Please be sure to provide the information requested for all fields, any omissions will result in a delay in your request.
